He provides an expert and affordable interim or outsourced finance director service to distressed and fast-growing SMEs and helps solve trading, leadership, management and strategic issues that often manifest themselves into cashflow difficulties.

He is F.C.C.A. qualified and has worked in prominent national and international accountancy, advisory, restructuring and private equity firms for more than 20 years.

 

He has held senior positions and directorships throughout his career and also within industrial, manufacturing and service companies via long term assignments and secondments.

He is a problem-solving troubleshooter that specialises in helping cash-hungry or troubled businesses and, over the years, developed vital skills in forecasting, creditor care, cashflow management, refinancing and fundraising.

He is strong in "topping and tailing" management accounts and shaping reporting packs, identifying and addressing business-critical issues and presenting relevant KPI's to management, funders and other stakeholders.
 

​Mike is also highly experienced in dealing with VAT, PAYE/NI and other tax arrears in SME's having played a major role in the implementation of the UK Government's Department of Business, Innovation & Skills' (formerly, the DTI) highly successful "Company Rescue" pilot scheme between 2001 and 2003.

This scheme was effectively the forerunner to the "time to pay" system currently adopted by HMRC and, since 2001, Mike has personally secured more than 500 agreements.
